Summer Visits

This summer it has been so good to break away from the school year routine and do things that have been relaxing and refreshing. My favorite thing has been getting to see more of our wonderful families. We had such a great time in Illinois and Michigan with my side of the family. Lake Michigan was so fun...a bit of sunshine and refreshment in the midst of sadness. We also had a wonderful time playing with my nephew, Cade. He is a lot of fun! I still love being able to 'go home' to Illinois. There's no place like home. :)

And the Lambert side..... We all like to get together for the big Sterling bash over the Fourth of July. This year Tim and Roxie and their five kids and Dennis and Nita were all able to come.
We all enjoyed the many festivities surrounding the fourth. The family favorite, I would have to say, was the big 5K run. 4 out of the 5 Lambert kids, 3 spouses, 4 nieces and of course Dad Lambert all participated in the race! Chuck even surprised everyone with his first running event since high school!! He did a great job! Out of the 12 Lambert runners, I think we came away with 10 awards. Not too bad! Sure was fun to WATCH!! :)

There are always so many fun things for the children to do. They got rich at the "silver sand pile" and got their own turn racing in the sack races!

We are so very grateful for the two wonderful families Chuck and I have been blessed with and are thankful for the time we have been able to spend together this summer!!
