Quick Trip to Missouri

Our good friends, Brandon and Nichole Ogden welcomed a new baby into the world Saturday evening. It was so exciting because when we moved to Missouri, Chuck taught both of them in 6th grade History. He taught them from 6th grade until their senior year in High School. He also coached Brandon in 6 years of football and Nichole in 2 years of basketball. Since they graduated, got married and had a baby, we are officially old!!!

We decided to make a quick trip to Missouri. We were thrilled to meet little Landry Isaiah Ogden! He was a perfect 7 pounds with lots of soft black hair. What a sweetie!!

It was also fun to be with our other friends from Missouri! A trip back to Missouri isn't complete without reuniting with the whole gang! We were even able to see our friends, Anthony and Nell who are heading off to be Missionaries in the Dominican Republic. It was a treat to get to see them - they leave in less than two weeks for language school in Costa Rica!

We had so much fun. I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out of the hospital!! Thanks everybody for a GREAT time! We miss you all!!

Prayer Request

Chuck's brother, John has been in Mexico for about three years now helping in an orphanage. When he first visited that orphanage, three little boys worked their way right into his heart. He has felt a bond with those three boys, Marcos, Sergio and Alfredo. The bond has been so strong that for a couple of years now, Andy (the oldest Lambert brother) and his wife Betsy have been trying to adopt the boys to make them a part of our family. It has been a long, confusing, drawn out process with a lot of ups and downs along the way.

About three weeks ago, the orphanage was shut down because of some accusations made against the director. This meant that all the children there were taken away from the orphanage and distributed to many different places. This has been a very trying time for John as he's had to stay around there and try to pick up the pieces and provide answers that he wasn't even sure of himself. He has remained faithful through it all but would sure appreciate prayers for wisdom, peace and patience as all of this is being investigated and hopefully resolved over the next few weeks.

An immediate prayer request that we have is for the adoptions that were in progress. Our good friends, Todd and Lillian (from Sterling) have been granted custody from the Mexican government of a sweet little boy named Moises. They do have custody, but have been waiting for paperwork to be completed for more than a year. Since all of the problems happened with the orphanage, it appears that they want to try to speed up any adoptions that were in progress. This would include Todd and Lillian and possibly Andy and Betsy. They are all on their way to Mexico to meet with the Mexican authorities and were told they could possibly be given custody, and for Todd and Lillian, be even closer to bringing him home!

Please join with us in prayer that:

*First of all God would be glorified!

*That HIS will would be done.

*That these two families would be granted favor from the Mexican government (the meetings begin Wed. July 16 at 10AM.)

*That they would be able to bring these four sweet boys out of the danger and uncertainty of the environments they are in now to live with their new loving parents.

*That He would guard the hearts of those involved.

Thank you. We know that the only way these adoptions will go through is if God would intervene. We know He is able...we are praying that He will.

Summer Visits

This summer it has been so good to break away from the school year routine and do things that have been relaxing and refreshing. My favorite thing has been getting to see more of our wonderful families. We had such a great time in Illinois and Michigan with my side of the family. Lake Michigan was so fun...a bit of sunshine and refreshment in the midst of sadness. We also had a wonderful time playing with my nephew, Cade. He is a lot of fun! I still love being able to 'go home' to Illinois. There's no place like home. :)

And the Lambert side..... We all like to get together for the big Sterling bash over the Fourth of July. This year Tim and Roxie and their five kids and Dennis and Nita were all able to come.
We all enjoyed the many festivities surrounding the fourth. The family favorite, I would have to say, was the big 5K run. 4 out of the 5 Lambert kids, 3 spouses, 4 nieces and of course Dad Lambert all participated in the race! Chuck even surprised everyone with his first running event since high school!! He did a great job! Out of the 12 Lambert runners, I think we came away with 10 awards. Not too bad! Sure was fun to WATCH!! :)

There are always so many fun things for the children to do. They got rich at the "silver sand pile" and got their own turn racing in the sack races!

We are so very grateful for the two wonderful families Chuck and I have been blessed with and are thankful for the time we have been able to spend together this summer!!
